MEETING PRACTICAL NEEDS

Water wells, vision clinics, preaching, and time with families have opened doors to lasting friendships. As our ministry grows, discipleship remains at the center, and meeting practical needs continues to be part of loving people as God provides opportunities and resources.

It has been such a pleasure to walk alongside Frank and watch him grow in the Lord. We have been able to support his spiritual growth by teaching, mentoring and praying. Through generous supporters of our ministry, we have been able to offer housing support to Frank as he pursues God in full time ministry as Lead Pastor of Amazing Grace Church. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for our future ministry together!

Peter M. has a strong desire to serve the Lord. He loves leading youth as the Youth Pastor at his church. Through ministry supporters, we are able to offer housing support as he pursues a formal education of the Bible at Timothy Logos Training Center. It is a blessing to be able to invest in his future, and all of the lives he will reach with the Gospel of Christ!

Peter P. loves Jesus and often reaches people in his community by door to door evangelism and street preaching. He has a passionate heart for the youth and serves as the Assistant Pastor at his church. Through ministry supporters, we have been able to help Peter carry the love of Christ even further through organized outreaches with his church to include hair cuts, clothing, Bible distribution, worship and preaching. It is a blessing to come alongside Peter and his church family in ministry.

Meet Frank.
A story of God’s faithfulness.

Through loss, uncertainty, and the kindness of others, Frank has continued to trust Jesus. Today, he shares that hope with others.

A mother’s love. A difficult goodbye.

Frank begins his story by giving glory to God. But to understand his journey, you also need to know about his mother.

Raised in the Jinja area of Uganda, Frank grew up without his father, who abandoned his mother before Frank was born. His mother, Irene, sold charcoal and worked in other people’s gardens to provide food and pay school fees for her children.

She was his supporter, his friend, and the person he turned to. When she died in 2024, Frank was heartbroken. He writes honestly about the tears and how deeply he still misses her.

Even in his grief, he continued to pray, worship, and trust God. During that difficult season, a man who had not previously known him offered him a place to live, with electricity and water provided, so he could continue his education. Frank saw that kindness as God’s provision.

A faith that grew with him.

Frank’s introduction to church came with a little childhood honesty: he liked the rice served at weddings and the sweets given out in Sunday school.

But what began with food became something much deeper. He learned that Jesus loved him, and at nine years old, he put his faith in Christ.

As he grew, he began leading prayers and preaching at school. He later served in student ministry, interpretation, worship, and youth leadership.

His education came with obstacles. School fees forced him to change schools, and outstanding debts stood between him and receiving the certificates he had earned. Through the Sheila Byrd Foundation, we were able to help clear those debts so he could receive his certificates. Frank describes that support as an encouragement to keep serving and trusting God.

Sharing the hope he has found.

Frank now serves as senior pastor of Amazing Grace Church. Through preaching and village outreach, he shares the Gospel and encourages others to put their faith in Jesus.

His desire to bring hope to people facing hardship is personal. He knows what it means to struggle, to grieve, and to need someone beside him. In his testimony, he points to Jesus as the One who has carried him through.

Frank’s story helps explain the heart behind our work: walking alongside people, encouraging their faith, and supporting them as they grow in the calling God has placed on their lives.

His story is still unfolding. We are grateful to know him and serve alongside him.
